At the end of August 2011 I answered a advert for replacement kitchen door worktop and sink. The next day a salesman called and showed us a door sample.

As the sample door looked of good quality we decided to go ahead. In about 2 weeks they came to install the kitchen. The salesman said it would take about 2 men 2 days to do it. One man came.

The doors he installed was of a very poor quality and nothing like the one we saw. I refused to pay but he asked me to sign to say he had done the work. As I had paid a deposit with my credit card they took the rest of the money out. The worktop was supposed to be 30m but the one they installed was 28 which didnt look right.

The hadnt put in any support either and I asked for them to come back. After several recorded delivery letter no one replied. I got on to the credit company which got in touch with them.If I had paid the money cash or cheque they wouldnt have come back. The work was finished in March 2012.

It is of very poor quality for the price I paid. I would advise anyone to have nothing to do with this Company as they are not what they are advertising

We've also had a very bad experience with Kitchen Magic, based in Birmingham, who supplied and fitted new door and drawer fronts to our existing kitchen units in 2010 for a cost of ยฃ4,000.00. In less than four years some of the white high gloss doors have turned cream in colour so we now have a mismatched kitchen.

We've been chasing Chris Davies, Ooerations Manager at Kitchen Magic for over 3 months.

A fitter did call and took 2 of the doors away but returned them 2 weeks later with our name written all over the front in indelible ink, which won't come off, so we now also have graffitied units. Today we were told by Kitchen Magic that they only guaranteed their kitchens for 12 months but would replace the affected doors for a further payment of ยฃ2,000.00.

I think we'll go elsewhere as Kitchem Magic kitchens units are apparently very cheaply made in China, not in their own factory in Birmingjam, as we were originally told.

We'll be contacting Trading Standards and BBC Watchdog but if you're looking for a new kitchen is strongly advise you DO NOT USE Kitchem Magic.

Just got off the phone from Kitchen Magic, Forward Park, Corporation Street, Birmingham, B4 7DS - one of the most unprofessional companies I have ever had to deal with. Finally after 10 calls over 6 weeks dealing with what I can only say was a virtual reception service (although she did say that she did work for the company directly - if so, I would suggest they get a politer more informed person to answer their phones) 10 calls later I was finally put through to someone to talk about their kitchen doors, but unfortunately it was another person with very little knowledge, all I wanted was a guide to the price of their doors, but apparently this is impossible to do without a home visit and not only this, the kitchen has to be in place - which for me at the moment is not possible as the kitchen does not even exist, as I have found the units but still looking for doors, if I can not find the right doors at the right price then I will have to go down the complete kitchen from one supplier route, which at the moment I have not found the right doors with any one yet.

After explaining this to a rather unhelpful Kitchen Magic representative, I suggested that I could give them the complete kitchen plan with the exact door sizes, number of doors and finishes required for them to give me a price, this would save them money and time of a home visit at this stage, then once I had a price they could visit my home as many times as they liked. BUT still a 'computer says no!โ€™ answer, eventually after more time of having to talk to this rather rude canโ€™t be bothered representative, she put me through to the managing director who โ€˜surprise' โ€˜surprise' was just as rude, very grumpy and unhelpful - So now I understand why heโ€™s staff have such a โ€˜canโ€™t be bothered attitude, as good manners and good customer service starts at the top! (I take back what I said about the staff - but would suggest they all stop wasting their lives working for Kitchen Magic and go and find new jobs with a better company - before its too late and their end up like their boss!). The final result was Kitchen Magic, Forward Park, Corporation Street, Birmingham, B4 7DS , are not capable of giving a quote or guide price from a kitchen plan, (which is a big worry as they sell and make kitchens) or maybe they only sell through pushy sales people once in your home, I have chosen not to find out.

But reading other reviews, Kitchen Magic seem to show you one set of sample doors and fit another, and people who have had quotes say they are 3 times the price of other companies, lucky I found out this before I wasted my time by inviting them into my home. I think the answer is always check online reviews before you buy or arrange a home visit.

Salesman called, quote 3 times that of nearest competitor, and then brochure posted to me without postage paid so had to fork out for unidentified item which proved to be the brochure.

Avoid this bunch!
